Serves 4 as main course or 8-10 as a starter
- 1 lb (450g) firm white fish fillets( cod or haddock are best)
- 1/2 pint (280 ml) stock
- oil for deep frying
- fot the marinade:
- 1 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons chinese rice wine
- 2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons five spice powder
- 2 spring onions finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh root ginger
